It’s not every day a guard gets a double-double in points and rebounds, but Katelyn Willard led Cascade Christian with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 44-34 victory over Douglas Tuesday night.

On senior night, Sophie Ferreira contributed 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in her final regular season game at home. Liz White also filled up the stat sheet with seven points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals. Elliana Hagloch corralled seven rebounds to go with four points, and Paisley Fish scored six.

Coach John “JT” Thomas noted the Challengers defense as key to their progress as a team. Along with the aforementioned players, Neha Joseph and reserve forward Abby Holt are a big part of that, in a man-to-man base defense.

At 5-4, the Challengers remain in third in the FWL. Their regular season concludes with a game at St. Mary’s Friday- which will be audio streamed on The Nail.
