You’ll often hear that the Challenger boys’ goal is to limit an opponent to 10 points or less in a quarter. Cascade Christian succeeded in that to forge a victory over Douglas on the road.
Nathan Spurlock scored a career-high 19 points and was a force on the offensive glass. Dom Lewis added 16 points with 14 coming in the second half. Logan Flenner provided an offensive spark off the bench with 8 points.
It was a total defensive effort, with Braydn Coppedge strong on the defensive boards; Lewis, Kiegan Schaan and Layne Collom created a number of Trojan turnovers with their aggressiveness.
The Challengers are tied for second in the FWL, setting up a big rivalry game at home Friday night with St. Mary’s.
