Challengers News · Bowling: Challenger Boys Team Up With North JV For Win, Girls Combine With Comets For 3rd

Challengers bowling coach Joe Mitchell has a great report on how the Challenger boys and girls bowling teams fared over the weekend.

He says, “On Sunday the Cascade Christian boys’ bowlers, James (JJ) Thomas and Sammy Quintera, joined forces with the North Medford #2 JV team to finish first in the tournament’s JV division at Lava Lanes in Medford.  The team finished third in qualifying but then went on to defeat both North Medford #3 and top qualifier Grants Pass to earn the victory. The Cascade bowlers led their team in marks (strikes and spares) during the event.

At the same tournament, Cascade’s Varsity Girls (Kaylea Bell, Rachel Johnston and Elsie Bryant) again teamed up with the Crater Comet girls to finish second after 24 games of qualifying.  They fell short of first place, however, finishing third after falling to Hidden Valley in the head-to-head roll-off competition.

The bowlers’ District meet will be the weekend of January 25th and 26th, with the girls bowling on Saturday and the boys on Sunday.”
