Cascade Christian took it to the edge in Boardman, with the first round match with Riverside going to overtime. In the first half of the overtime period, Marisel Pacheco scored the game winner as the Pirates prevailed 2-1.
The Challengers took the early lead, as sophomore Katie Erno scored from long range on a pass from Hannah Krug. From there, Riverside closed the door on any further Challenger opportunities.
Strong play from, Krug, Autumn Murray and sweeper Braelyn Day were highlights for the Challengers, as was Bryton Plankenhorn, who still fighting off the effects of a recent ankle injury.
The Challengers conclude their 2019 season with a record of 9-4-2.
