At North Bend, Friday was a great day for Cascade Christian Challenger swimmers. 7 of 9 qualified for today’s finals, and a number of them earned new personal bests.
In the Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay- the Challengers placed 7th out of 14 teams. Katie Meadows, Mia Mayben, Allison Modrell and Jasmine Janbay had a seed time of 2:53.93, and clocked a time of 2:35.08
In the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay- Cascade Christian finished 5th out of 17. Elijah Snyder, Will Pierson, Owen Harrington, and Braedon Scaglione recorded a time of 1:43.86, besting their seed time of 1:50.50.
In the Girls 100 Yard Breaststroke- Allison Modrell finished 9th out of 28 competitors with a time of 1:28.00. Teammate Hannah Smith took 10th at 1:28.56. Senior Mia Mayben clocked a time of 1:31.18 for a 13th place finish. Freshman Jasmine Janbay finished 23rd with a 1:47.63.
In the Boys 100 Yard Freestyle- Will Pierson recorded a 9th place prelim with a time of 58:07, easily eclipsing his seed time of 1:02.04. Owen Harrington took 14th at 1:03.41. Donovan Ritchie came in 35th with a 1:15.72. His seed time was 1:32.97. 45 swimmers entered the event.
In the Boys 50 Yard Freestyle, Braedon Scaglione was 4th out of 47 with a time of 23.59.Will Pierson was 13th at 26.16, Elijah Snyder 15th with a mark of 27.01, and Owen Harrington 16th at 27.51.
Sophomore Elijah Snyder finished 6th out of 17 swimmers in the Boys 100 Backstroke, clocking a 1:13.10.
Scaglione won the Boys 100 Yard Backstroke with a mark of 1:04.15 in a field of 26.
47 raced in the Girls 50 Yard Freestyle. Sophomore Allison Modrell swam a 33.56 for a 19th place finish.
In the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle, Hannah Smith finished 11th with a time of 1:11.10. 34 entered the event.
