The 2018 Challenger track and field season was a success in both the individual and team aspect.  Our Boys’ team finished 2nd in the league and the Girls’ finished 3rd.  Twelve athletes qualified for the OSAA 3A State Meet with five qualifiers from the Girls’ team and seven from the Boys’.  Both teams finished in the top 10 at the OSAA 3A State Meet held May 17 and 18 at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Congratulations to our Girls’ Track team who placed 7th out of 35 teams at the OSAA 3A State Meet. Congratulations also to the following athletes who placed in the top 8 individually:

  • Abbey Alexander:  5th in the Discus Throw
  • Kara Ash:  4th in the Long Jump & 7th in the Triple Jump
  • Grace Boisen:  7th in the 100-Meter Hurdles (set a school record)
  • Amber Cave:  2nd in the 100 & 200-Meter Dash (Set a new school record in 200)
  • Sarah Johnston: 5th in the Shot Put & 8th in the Discus Throw

Congratulations to our Boys’ Track Team who placed 9th of 35 teams at the OSAA 3A State Meet.  Congratulations also to the following athletes who placed in the top 8 individually:

  • Riley Dexter:  3rd in High Jump
  • Jeffrey Fairbanks: 8th in the 800-Meter Run
  • Wyatt Lewis: 4th in the 1500-Meter Run & 5th in Long Jump
  • Haiden Schaan:  2nd in the Discus Throw (set a new school record)
